The Blood of Dawnwalker Trailer Hints at the Future of the Series

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Rebel Wolves have revealed a new trailer for the open world dark fantasy action RPG titled The Blood of Dawnwalker.
This debut chapter in the Dawnwalker saga is scheduled for release on September 3, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
The latest gameplay footage introduces players to the protagonist Coen and his primary antagonist Brencis, the vampire lord of Vale Sangora.
Set in the 14th century within the Carpathian Mountains, the narrative follows Coen’s origin story and promises a self-contained conclusion based on player choices.
While the first game is set entirely in the medieval period, the new teaser trailer surprisingly features a modern 21st-century setting to hint at the overarching direction of the franchise.
Rebel Wolves game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz explained that while the saga will eventually span different centuries and cultures, each installment will remain a standalone experience without cliffhangers.
Narrative director Jakub Szamalek noted that the unique Carpathian setting provides a fresh take on the dark fantasy genre that players enjoy.
Although the conflict between Coen and Brencis will end in the first game, attentive players may find clues throughout the world that connect to the wider plot of the series.
Rebel Wolves was founded by industry veterans including Tomaszkiewicz, who previously served as the director for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The studio aims to create narrative driven experiences that avoid unresolved plot threads or complex time travel mechanics.
