The Apothecary Diaries Debuts Two New Idol Groups Fronted by Maomao and Jinshi

A surprising new project has been unveiled featuring familiar faces from a highly popular historical mystery anime series.
The hit anime “The Apothecary Diaries” has announced the simultaneous debut of two brand-new idol groups under the management of “Lee Entertainment”.

The exciting news was accompanied by the release of official concept visuals and promotional movies featuring voice lines from the cast.
The highly successful anime follows a young poison tester solving difficult cases within the rear palace.

The original light novel and accompanying manga series has achieved massive popularity, surpassing 45 million copies in total circulation combined.
Its television anime adaptation has also enjoyed widespread acclaim, consistently ranking high on various streaming platforms.

The first season aired from October 2023 to March 2024, followed by a second season running from January to July 2025.
Fans are currently anticipating a third television season in October 2026, as well as a theatrical film scheduled for December 2026.

The newly announced music project introduces a girl crush group named “bubbles” and a traditional boy group called “Edel Glanz”.

Both acts are supposedly debuting under the fictional Lee Entertainment, an agency known for producing global artists.
The three-member girl group bubbles is led by the series protagonist Maomao, who also serves as the rapper.

She is joined by main dancer and visual center Shisui, alongside main vocalist Xiaolan.

This next-generation trio aims to perform on the world stage using the catchphrase “Pop Your Heart!”.

Meanwhile, Edel Glanz is formed by leader and visual center Jinshi, main dancer Basen, and main vocalist Lihaku.

They promise to deliver overwhelming performances while maintaining a royal atmosphere under the catchphrase “Heavenly radiance to you.”

The extensive promotional materials even include character art for Gaoshun, who acts as the shrewd industry manager supporting both groups.

Of course, this entire idol debut campaign was playfully orchestrated as a special April Fools’ joke for fans to enjoy.
The concept video for the fictional Apothecary Diaries idol groups is now available via the official TOHO Animation YouTube channel:
