SuperGroupies New Official SEGA Watch Collection Celebrates the Mega Drive, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast
Three of Sega’s most iconic game consoles are being transformed into collectible wristwatches, with SuperGroupies unveiling a new collection that celebrates decades of gaming history through detailed wearable designs.
Sega has been one of the gaming industry’s most influential companies for decades, with consoles such as the Mega Drive, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast introducing countless players to beloved franchises including Sonic the Hedgehog, Virtua Fighter, Shenmue and Crazy Taxi while helping shape the evolution of home gaming.
Rather than reproducing the consoles outright, each watch uses carefully integrated details that reward those familiar with Sega’s hardware history, creating understated collector pieces that still retain the identity of their original systems.
The Mega Drive Model watch recreates several of the console’s defining features, including its cartridge slot, reset button, iconic “16-BIT” branding, power indicator styling, the classic Mega Drive logo and controller-inspired details integrated into the lower section of the dial.
The Sega Saturn Model watch draws inspiration from Sega’s legendary fifth-generation console by incorporating its recognizable logo, reset button, power button at the nine o’clock position, open button and several controller-inspired elements into an intricate dial design, while the presentation box echoes the luxurious gold packaging of the original hardware.
The Dreamcast Model watch captures the clean design of Sega’s final home console with references to its disc lid, power and open buttons, while controller button motifs complete the lower portion of the dial to create a design immediately recognizable to longtime fans.
Each model is presented in specially designed packaging inspired by the original retail box of its respective console, making the collection just as appealing for display as it is for everyday wear.
Together, the three releases celebrate consoles that remain hugely influential among collectors today, with the Mega Drive helping define the 16-bit era, the Sega Saturn building a passionate following through its arcade-quality software, and the Dreamcast continuing to be remembered as one of gaming’s most innovative systems despite its relatively short lifespan.
Each watch is priced at ¥27,500 (approx. $175 USD / £131 GBP) and are now available to pre-order through the SuperGroupies online store, Animate Online Shop and Gamers Online Shop within Japan.
Fans in the US can use the official SuperGroupies US online store, where each watch in the collection is priced at $319.99.
Pre-orders will remain available until August 31, 2026, with the collection currently scheduled to begin shipping in early February 2027.
