Studio Ghibli Reveals New Official Notebook Collection Featuring 3 Classic Movies
Image by James RichardsonStudio Ghibli has revealed a new official Rollbahn notebook collection inspired by three of its best-loved classic movies.
The three Pocket Memo L designs recreate memorable scenes from Castle in the Sky, Pom Poko and Tales from Earthsea across Rollbahn’s familiar ring-bound format.

Rollbahn is one of Japanese stationery brand DELFONICS’ best-known ranges and is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, with its Pocket Memo notebooks designed around a simple format that combines writing space with practical storage.

The three Ghibli movies selected for the new collection span two decades of the studio’s history, beginning with Hayao Miyazaki’s Castle in the Sky in 1986 and Isao Takahata’s Pom Poko in 1994 before reaching Goro Miyazaki’s directorial debut Tales from Earthsea in 2006.

That also means the collection arrives during the 40th anniversary year of Castle in the Sky and the 20th anniversary of Tales from Earthsea.
Let’s take a closer look at all three designs!
- “Castle in the Sky Rollbahn Pocket Memo L”

The cover recreates Pazu standing on the rooftop of his home and playing his trumpet towards the morning sky, with the Rollbahn logo and binding colors chosen to complement the artwork.
- “Pom Poko Rollbahn Pocket Memo L”

Isao Takahata’s movie receives a design based on the large gathering of tanuki familiar from its theatrical poster, transforming the crowded scene into the notebook’s main cover artwork.
- “Tales from Earthsea Rollbahn Pocket Memo L”

The final design depicts Arren facing a dragon against a dramatic evening sky, recreating a scene from the later stages of Goro Miyazaki’s fantasy adventure.
All three notebooks measure approximately 14 cm wide, 18 cm tall and 1.5 cm thick and contain 140 pages of 5 mm grid paper designed to resist ink bleeding and show-through.

Every page is perforated so individual sheets can be removed cleanly, with five transparent PP pockets included at the back for storing loose notes, stickers and other small paper items.

The rear covers also use recycled paper, with slight differences in color and texture possible as a result of the material.

The new notebooks are also joined by 9 returning designs, with the first three based on Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Three returning My Neighbour Totoro designs are also being restocked, with two featuring Totoro himself and Catbus appearing on the third.

Finally, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke and Whisper of the Heart are all represented with their own individual designs.

Tales from Earthsea director Goro Miyazaki has continued working with Studio Ghibli since making his feature directorial debut on the movie, most recently co-directing “Night in the Valley of Witches,” the first original short film created specifically for Ghibli Park.

Studio Ghibli has also significantly expanded the reach of its official merchandise during 2026, with Donguri Republic opening its first US retail location through a limited-time Los Angeles-area pop-up carrying hundreds of products from across the studio’s filmography.

The three new Rollbahn notebooks will launch through Studio Ghibli’s official Donguri Kyowakoku online store in Japan at 10:00 AM (JST) on October 10, 2026, with each design priced at ¥1,430 (approximately $9/£7).
Donguri Kyowakoku does not offer direct international shipping, although overseas fans can use a third-party proxy service to obtain a Japanese delivery address before arranging onward shipping to their own country.
The new notebooks have not currently been confirmed for the separate Donguri Republic US pop-up store.
