Studio Ghibli Announces New Ghibli Park Exclusive Short Film

Studio Ghibli has revealed plans to screen a brand new original short film exclusively at Ghibli Park.
Titled “Night in the Valley of Witches”, the upcoming animation is the very first short film created specifically for the theme park.

Located in Nagakute City within Aichi Prefecture, Ghibli Park beautifully recreates the magical worlds seen throughout the studio’s legendary filmography.

The park is currently divided into five different areas, including Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, the Hill of Youth, Dondoko Forest, Mononoke Village, and the Valley of Witches.

The story of the new short film is appropriately set within the park’s newly opened Valley of Witches area and is co-directed by Goro Miyazaki and Akihiko Yamashita.

Goro Miyazaki famously made his directorial debut with “Tales from Earthsea” before going on to direct the acclaimed “From Up on Poppy Hill”.
Akihiko Yamashita has served as a key animator on several iconic productions, including “Spirited Away”, “Howl’s Moving Castle”, “Ponyo”, and “The Wind Rises”.

To celebrate the release, a special premiere screening and stage greeting featuring both directors will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Alongside this exciting film announcement, organizers have detailed several upcoming changes to the park’s admission structure.
