Steins;Gate Announces First-Ever Full Orchestral Concert Event

The acclaimed Steins;Gate visual novel series has announced a historic musical event to celebrate the franchise’s enduring legacy.

The “Steins;Gate Symphony of Causal Melodies” is set to be the first full orchestral concert in the franchise’s history, bringing the complex world of the game to life through live music.

Originally released on the Xbox 360 in 2009, Steins;Gate is widely considered a masterpiece of the “Science Adventure” genre, renowned for its intricate time-travel story and memorable cast of characters.

Set in the Akihabara district of Tokyo, the story follows Rintaro Okabe, a self-proclaimed “mad scientist,” and his friends at the Future Gadget Laboratory who accidentally discover a method of sending messages to the past using a modified microwave.

The series has since spawned a hit anime adaptation, the sequel Steins;Gate 0, and a devoted global fanbase that has supported the franchise for over 15 years.

This upcoming performance will feature the Nihonbashi Symphony Orchestra, led by the renowned conductor Kenichi Shimura, who has previously produced the “GAME SYMPHONY JAPAN” and “ANIMATION SYMPHONY JAPAN” concert series.

Fans attending the event will be treated to iconic background music and vocal tracks from the series, performed with special direction unique to this concert.

To further enhance the experience, Asami Imai, the voice actress behind the series heroine Kurisu Makise, will serve as the event’s MC.

She will be joined by special musical guests including Kanako Itou, the artist responsible for the anime’s opening anthem “Hacking to the Gate,” and Ayumu (from the unit Zwei), who performed the ending theme “Lyra” for Steins;Gate 0.

In addition to the musical performances, the organizers are preparing exclusive merchandise featuring newly drawn illustrations of the eight main “Lab Members” (Rintaro Okabe, Mayuri Shiina, Itaru Hashida, Kurisu Makise, Moeka Kiryu, Luka Urushibara, Faris NyanNyan, and Suzuha Amane).

The concert will take place at the Forest Hall 21 (Matsudo City Cultural Hall) in Chiba Prefecture, the same venue that hosted the franchise’s 15th-anniversary event in 2024.

Two sessions will be held: a daytime “Beta Performance” and an evening “Alpha Performance,” referencing the divergent world lines that are central to the game’s plot.

Ticket prices for the event are as follows:

  • Premium S Seat (with benefits): 19,800 yen (approx. $135.00 USD / £105.00 GBP)
  • S Seat: 14,800 yen (approx. $100.00 USD / £78.00 GBP)
  • A Seat: 12,000 yen (approx. $80.00 USD / £63.00 GBP)
  • B Seat: 10,000 yen (approx. $68.00 USD / £53.00 GBP)

The Steins;Gate Symphony of Causal Melodies is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

The first round of lottery ticket sales begins on Friday, January 23, via eplus, with general sales opening on Saturday, February 21.
