Square Enix has opened pre-orders for the latest additions to a figure line that celebrates the visual history of one of their most iconic role-playing games by bringing the charm of early 3D graphics to physical form.

The “Final Fantasy VII Polygon Soft Vinyl Barret Wallace” and “Final Fantasy VII Polygon Soft Vinyl Red XIII” capture the distinct low-poly aesthetic of the original 1997 PlayStation release.

When Final Fantasy VII first launched, it revolutionized the genre by moving away from 2D sprites to 3D character models, and these figures serve as a direct tribute to that pivotal moment in gaming history.

While modern iterations like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth offer photorealistic graphics, these collectibles focus on the blocky, expressive forms that fans spent hundreds of hours with on CRT televisions.

Barret Wallace is depicted in his classic green attire as the leader of the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE.

The figure faithfully recreates his imposing silhouette and features his signature “Gatling Gun” grafted onto his right arm, a weapon he uses in his fight against the Shinra Electric Power Company to protect the planet.

Standing at approximately 16cm tall, the figure includes articulation points in the arms, waist, and ankles, allowing collectors to adjust his stance from a neutral pose to a battle-ready position.

Joining him is Red XIII, the beast-like warrior also known by his real name, Nanaki.

Originally rescued by the party from Professor Hojo’s laboratory in the Shinra Building, Red XIII is a highly intelligent feline-like species from Cosmo Canyon.

His figure captures his stoic posture and features the trademark flame at the tip of his tail as well as the “XIII” tattoo branded on his shoulder.

Like Barret, he is designed to fit comfortably on a desk or shelf alongside other members of the cast.
