Sound System Hits PC Early Access October 16

Developer Echo Foundry Interactive has announced that the next-generation rhythm game Sound System will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on October 16, 2026.
The title is created by industry veterans who previously worked on the Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and DJ Hero franchises.
Early Access players can purchase the game for $24.99, while a full release is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC at a later date.
Sound System aims to modernize the rhythm genre by combining intense gameplay with built-in creator tools and a community platform for sharing music.
Players can perform using a keyboard, controller, compatible guitar controllers, or a microphone to play guitar, bass, or vocals.
The game supports local split-screen and online modes, including cooperative band performances and head-to-head competitive battles for stage control.
A diverse music catalog of over 50 songs will be available at launch, featuring a mix of legendary covers, established indie artists, and rising new bands.
Core songs from emerging artists will be free to play, while studio covers will cost $0.99 alongside regular monthly DLC releases.
Three playstyles are available, including Classic Mode for a traditional arcade experience and Pro Mode for veterans with tighter timing windows and DDR-style scoring.
For the highest level of competition, Hardcore Mode features an e-sports focus where a single missed note results in a game over.
Customization is a central feature, allowing players to modify note highways, backgrounds, scoring widgets, and visual themes to create a unique performance space.
The innovative PulseMap Editor allows users to upload original music and create or edit note charts to share with the community.
New trailers have been released to showcase the different modes and gameplay mechanics ahead of the October 16, 2026 debut.
