Serious Sam: Shatterverse Heading to PS5, Xbox, and PC

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Behaviour Interactive have officially announced a new title in the long running shooter franchise titled Serious Sam: Shatterverse.

The game is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via the Steam platform.

While the announcement was made on March 26, 2026, a specific release date for the project has not yet been confirmed by the teams involved.

This latest entry sees protagonist Serious Sam Stone facing a new threat as Uber Mental has used dimensional machinations to fracture the walls between alternate realities.

The narrative requires multiple versions of Sam from various dimensions to unite as part of the Serious Program to repair the damaged Shatterverse.

Players will navigate through shifting universes to finish battles that other versions of the hero could not complete.

The core gameplay loop adopts a roguelite structure where death provides opportunities to unlock new strategies and permanent upgrades.

To progress through the campaign, players must defeat five of Mental’s lieutenants, who serve as formidable boss encounters.

The arsenal features a combination of classic series staples and experimental new weapons designed to clear massive arenas filled with hundreds of enemies.

Gameplay is further modified by boons and run modifiers that allow for unique power combinations during procedurally shifting runs.

The title maintains the high adrenaline arcade energy the series is known for, complete with first-person run and gun chaos and perfectly timed one-liners.

Fans were given a first look at the game through an official announcement trailer released during the March 26, 2026, Xbox Partner Preview.
