Seiko releases Megatron-themed chronograph watch in new Transformers collab

Watchmaker Seiko is set to release a new collaborative watch based on the iconic transforming robot franchise Transformers.

This partnership, which also includes Japanese company U-Treasure, has resulted in a special Megatron-themed chronograph watch, created in part to commemorate the Transformers 40th anniversary, which occurred in 2024.

U-Treasure is a Japanese company specializing in character-themed jewelry and accessories, often collaborating with popular franchises to create high-quality, collectible items, whilst Seiko is a world-renowned Japanese watch manufacturer, celebrated for its precision and craftsmanship.

Megatron 2 — Megatron has had multiple different designs across films, animated TV series and comic books

Transformers, originally a toy line from Hasbro and Takara, quickly expanded into a global media phenomenon with animated series, comic books, and blockbuster films.

The saga of the Autobots and Decepticons, led by Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively, has been followed by generations of fans worldwide.

Megatron, the ruthless leader of the Decepticons, is known for his relentless pursuit of galactic domination.

This new chronograph watch, named “Transformers x Seiko Collaboration Watch DECEPTICON,” is limited to just 300 units worldwide.

It is designed to encapsulate Megatron’s charisma and the essence of the Transformers universe.

The watch features a silver and gunmetal color scheme, emblematic of Megatron’s design, with accents throughout the dial that underscore his formidable presence.

At the 12 o’clock position, the Decepticon emblem is prominently displayed, symbolizing Megatron’s authority.
The sub-dial at 6 o’clock incorporates the motif of Megatron’s iconic P38 handgun mode, representing his unique transformation ability.
The crown is engraved with an Energon Cube, the essential power source in the Transformers universe.

The hour and minute hands, along with the indexes, are equipped with Lumibrite for enhanced visibility in low light.

A robust metal band reflects Megatron’s commanding presence and unwavering power.

The case back is engraved with the Transformers 40th anniversary logo and a unique serial number for each of the 300 limited pieces.

The watch will come in a specially designed collector’s box and will be priced at ¥59,400 (tax included, approx. $410.58 USD/£307.63 GBP).

Pre-orders are now open and will run from Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, to Tuesday, August 12th, 2025.
