Sega has announced the opening of a limited-time collaboration cafe based on the popular short animation series SONIC & FRIENDS.

The “SONIC & FRIENDS CAFE” will operate from Friday, January 9, to Sunday, February 1, 2026, at two locations: “and GALLERY Yurakucho” in Tokyo and “and GALLERY Nagoya 2nd Shop” in Aichi.

SONIC & FRIENDS is a short animation series featuring “chibi” versions of Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman.

Since its debut on TikTok in August 2023, the series has garnered massive popularity, with individual episodes exceeding 2 million views.

The cafe will feature a menu inspired by the cute, distinct visual style of the shorts, alongside exclusive merchandise featuring newly drawn illustrations.

Additionally, a cross-promotion campaign will be held at the Bic Camera Yurakucho store (located in the same building), offering a special acrylic stand to customers who spend over 6,000 yen (approx. $40.00 USD / £31.50 GBP) on related goods or the game.

Advance seat reservations are required and cost 550 yen (approx. $3.70 USD / £2.90 GBP) per person.

Every visitor will also receive a free postcard, with 6 designs available between January 9 and 20, and another 6 designs available between January 9 and February 1.

Reservations will open on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 18:00 (JST) via the special cafe website.

Guests who book in advance will receive a “Logo Acrylic Keychain” as a gift.

Guests will also receive additional free gifts based on their purchases at the cafe.

Every order of a food or drink item will see a paper coaster selected at random from one of 6 designs.

For every 2,500 yen spent on merchandise (non-food/drink items), a free die-cut sticker will be given.

As with the postcards, the 6 available designs for the coasters and stickers will change halfway through the cafe’s operating period.

This event adds to a busy season for Sega, as the company recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Like a Dragon (Yakuza) series with a massive character popularity poll, which saw Goro Majima crowned the winner.
