Sanrio teams up with Japan Post to release limited edition postage stamp set

Sanrio is set to release a new limited edition item in collaboration with Japan Post, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their official monthly publication, the “Gekkan Ichigo Shimbun,” or the “Monthly Strawberry News.”
Japan Post will release the “Ichigo Shimbun 50th Anniversary Frame Stamp Collection,” a set that includes a sheet of collectible postage stamps and a decorative cushion.

The “Ichigo Shimbun” was first published in 1975, and for the past five decades, it has served as a direct link between Sanrio and its fans, known as “Ichigo Mates.”
This new, made-to-order collection is a celebration of that long history.

The main item is a “Frame Stamp” sheet, a special-edition collectible that features ten, 110-yen postage stamps.

The sheet itself is decorated with the 50th-anniversary artwork, and the individual stamps are designed with a selection of iconic and popular front covers from the newspaper’s 50-year history.
The set also includes a decorative cushion.

Customers can choose one of nine different cushion designs to be bundled with their stamp sheet.
Each cushion features a 50th-anniversary design on one side and a classic, popular newspaper cover on the other, and is finished with a special 50th-anniversary logo tag.
The nine different cushion designs to choose from are:
- Hello Kitty

- Kuromi

- Pompompurin

- Keroppi

- Pochacco

- Tuxedosam

- Cinnamoroll

- My Melody

- Ichigo Shimbun

The new collection will be sold exclusively through the official “Japan Post Online Shop.”
The “Ichigo Shimbun 50th Anniversary Frame Stamp Collection” is priced at ¥7,150 (approx. $48 USD/£36 GBP).

The made-to-order pre-order period is scheduled to begin on the official Japan Post online store from Wednesday, the 1st of October, and will run until the 31st of October, 2025.
The sets are scheduled to be shipped to customers starting from the 15th of February, 2026.
