Sanrio releases adorable new popsicle-themed bath bombs
A new series of “Bikkura Tamago” bath bombs has been released, featuring a collaboration with the globally popular Sanrio characters.
“Bikkura Tamago,” which translates to “Surprise Egg,” is a long-running and popular product line from Bandai in Japan.
The core concept is a bath bomb that, when dissolved in water, reveals a small, collectible surprise toy hidden inside.
Bandai has also recently added Sanrio themed makeup to their range of products through their cosmetics brand Creer Beaute and the “Pon de Couleur” series.
This new bath bomb release is part of the “Melty Bonbon” sub-series, which is known for its cute, “melting” design aesthetic.
“Bikkura Tamago Melty Bonbon Sanrio Characters Creamy Ice Candy” features a popsicle style bath bomb shaped like the iconic character, Hello Kitty.
The bath bomb itself has a “Pretty Pink” scent and turns the bathwater pink. Once fully dissolved, it reveals one of six possible surprise mascots.
Each mascot is designed to look like a small, melting ice candy, featuring a clear, translucent finish that shows the “ice pop stick” inside.
The characters featured in the mascot lineup are all popular characters from the Sanrio universe.
The full character lineup includes:
- Hello Kitty
- My Melody
- Kuromi
- Pompompurin
- Cinnamoroll
- Tuxedosam
The mascot included is random, so fans won’t know which character they have received until the bath bomb dissolves.
In addition to the main mascot, each package also comes with a bonus item.
The bonus item is a small, flat charm designed to look like a miniature version of the product’s packaging and a ball chain.
This allows you to attach both the main mascot and the miniature package charm to the chain to create a small accessory that can be attached to bags or keychains.
The new Sanrio bath bomb collection is currently on sale and is being sold at a wide range of retailers, including drugstores, character shops, toy stores, and electronics stores across Japan.
