Sanrio launches two new summer themed Hello Kitty merch collections
Japanese retailer Avail is set to release two new collections of Sanrio merchandise, perfectly timed for summer.
The collections will be based around two different themes: the “Heisei Kogal Series” and the “Sun-Kissed Series”, both heavily featuring Sanrio fan-favorite, Hello Kitty.
Sanrio consistently partners with various brands to bring exciting new merchandise to fans.
Avail, known for its affordable and trendy clothing and accessories, is a fitting collaborator to take on the fashion-forward and seasonal collections.
A recent collaboration between Sanrio and Avail saw the release of a Sanrio and Hatsune Miku themed apparel collection.

Sun-Kissed Series
The “Sun-Kissed Series” captures the quintessential summer vibe, featuring Hello Kitty with a golden sun-tanned look, while wearing sunglasses and swimwear, fully enjoying the summer season.

Heisei Kogal Series
The “Heisei Kogal Series” harks back to the influential “Kogal” fashion trend of Japan’s Heisei era (roughly the 1990s to early 2000s).
This theme sees Hello Kitty and friends sporting leopard print and vibrant pink “gal” style fashion, echoing the Y2K aesthetic currently trending worldwide while giving the collection a nostalgic feel.

This Gyaru inspired collection follows on from the recently announced EGOIST and CECIL McBEE collections in collaboration with Sanrio, that feature both Hello Kitty and Kuromi in a Kogyaru style.
Both the “Sun-Kissed Series” and the “Heisei Kogal Series” will be available for purchase in Avail stores across Japan and through the official Avail online store.
Hello Kitty and Sanrio fans will not want to miss out on either collection, with a range of useful every day items, accessories and clothing that are perfectly designed for the summer season.
Sales will begin Saturday, June 21st, 2025, with the online store beginning sales at 12:00 PM JST on the same day.
