Sanrio Launches New Character-Themed Travel Accessories

Japanese lifestyle brand Sanrio has announced a new selection of travel accessories featuring some of its most popular mascots.
The “Sanrio Characters Travel Goods” collection offers fans a variety of name tags designed to add a personal touch to suitcases and bags.

Sanrio is a world-renowned brand that has been at the forefront of the “kawaii” or cute culture since its founding in Japan.
With characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Cinnamoroll, the company has created an expansive universe of characters that appeal to people of all ages across the globe.

These new travel accessories continue this tradition by combining functionality with the signature charm that the brand is known for.
The company’s mascots have become cultural ambassadors, appearing on everything from stationery to airplanes.

These travel pieces are the latest way for fans to bring their favorite characters on their journeys.
Travelers often find it difficult to identify their luggage among dozens of similar suitcases on a carousel in Japan or abroad.

Adding a recognizable mascot helps to solve this problem while expressing a sense of personal style.
The lineup includes two primary styles of name tags to suit different travel needs.
The plush name tags feature soft, three-dimensional character designs and include a transparent window for name cards.

These versatile pieces are also marketed for “oshikatsu,” a popular Japanese hobby where fans support their favorite characters or idols.
The internal cards can be easily swapped for photos or custom illustrations to personalize the experience.
The second style consists of patch-themed name tags, which provide a flatter but equally colourful option for marking luggage.

Both types are designed to make suitcases stand out in crowded airport terminals while showcasing the owner’s favorite character.
Each design uses high-quality materials to withstand the rigors of frequent travel and ensure they remain securely attached to handles.

The plush name tags are available for 2,420 yen (approx. $16 USD / £13 GBP) while the patch name tags are priced at 1,760 yen (approx. $12 USD / £9 GBP).
Sales for the collection officially began on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
These accessories can be found at airport retail locations throughout Japan as well as through the “Concise Store” online shop.
They are also available on various e-commerce platforms including Amazon Japan, Yahoo Shopping, and Rakuten.
