Sanrio Launches Adorable 2026 My Melody Birthday Merch Collection
Sanrio has officially announced the release of a new line of My Melody merchandise to celebrate the character’s birthday on January 18.
The “Lady My Melody Design Series” features My Melody dressed in romantic, ladylike dresses with various designs intended to capture a “shitoyaka” (graceful) aesthetic.
This release complements the recently announced Sanrio x Godiva collaboration, which pairs characters with premium chocolates for the Valentine’s Day season.
The full lineup of merchandise includes the following items:
- My Melody Plush: 6,490 yen (approx. $43.00 USD / £34.00 GBP)
This plush is designed to stand on its own and comes packaged in a transparent box suitable for immediate display.
- Mascot Holder: 2,497 yen each (approx. $17.00 USD / £13.00 GBP)
This item is available in three distinct variations, each wearing a different dress design.
- Mascot Brooch: 1,496 yen each (approx. $10.00 USD / £8.00 GBP)
Available in two types, these brooches feature special dresses decorated with frills, lace, and ribbons.
- Hair Clip: 990 yen (approx. $6.50 USD / £5.00 GBP)
This mascot-type hair clip features rose decorations on the head and a lace collar design.
- Plush-style Pen Case: 2,794 yen (approx. $19.00 USD / £15.00 GBP)

Sales began at Sanrio direct stores and department store corners in Japan on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Select stores in the Kyushu, Tottori, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, and Okinawa regions will begin sales on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Priority sales for Sanrio+ Silver and Gold stage members will be held on the release day, requiring a “New Product Purchase Right Coupon” for entry.
Purchase restrictions are in place from January 7 through January 13, limiting customers to one of each item per design and eight secret keychains at physical locations.
The items are also now available through the Sanrio Online Shop, where customers are limited to two of each item per design and eight secret keychains.
