Sanrio fans heading to Japan this fall won’t want to miss riding the new Kuromi themed train

A new collaboration has been announced between the Kyoto Tango Railway (Tantetsu) and the popular Sanrio character, Kuromi.
The new campaign, titled “Kuromi’s Heart-pounding Tantetsu Diary,” is a large-scale tourism event that will run for several months.

The theme of the collaboration is based on the “Seven Princesses of Tango,” a series of local legends from the Tango region of northern Kyoto Prefecture, where the railway operates.
As part of the campaign, the “Kuromi’s Tango Seven Princesses Train,” a specially wrapped train featuring original designs of Kuromi dressed as each of the seven legendary princesses, will be in operation.

The designs of Kuromi’s costumes will incorporate the colors of the railway’s own historical train cars, celebrating the Kyoto Tango Railway’s 10th anniversary.
The train will operate on the Miyamai Line/Miyatoyo Line from Nishi-Maizuru Station to Toyooka Station.

A special, unlimited 1-day travel pass, the “Kuromi’s Heart-pounding Tantetsu Pass,” will also be sold.
Purchasers of this pass will receive an exclusive, limited-edition “ticket case” as a bonus gift.
Holders of the special pass will also be able to participate in a digital stamp rally.

By visiting fifteen different stamp points at major stations and tourist sites along the railway, and collecting five stamps, participants can receive an original prize.
The digital stamp rally locations are as follows:
- Stations:
- Fukuchiyama Station
- Ōe Station
- Nishi-Maizuru Station
