Sanrio characters get a “punk lolita” makeover for new line of exclusive kigurumi

A new line of exclusive merchandise has been released at the Japanese discount retail chain Don Quijote which gives a “punk” makeover to a number of popular Sanrio Characters.
The new product line is a collection of punk lolita “Kigurumi,” a popular style of full-body, pajama-like costumes that are often worn as loungewear or for costume parties.

This new collection reimagines the cute Sanrio characters with a “Punk Lolita” aesthetic, blending cute and edgy elements.
The designs feature a cute, plaid pattern, and are accented with details such as faux piercings, studded heart-shaped pockets, and ribbons on the hoods.

The lineup features a total of four different characters to choose from.
The four characters in the new collection are:
- My Melody

- Hello Kitty

- Cinnamoroll

- Kuromi

This new collection offers a unique and stylish new look for the beloved characters, and it is perfect for the upcoming Halloween season.
The new “Sanrio Characters – Punk Lolita Kigurumi” are a Don Quijote exclusive item and each of the four different designs is priced at ¥5,499 (approx. $37 USD/£28 GBP).
The new collection is currently on sale at participating Don Quijote stores across Japan.
