Sanrio Characters Explore the Galaxy in New Space Inspired Merch Collection
Sanrio has officially launched the “Tokimeki Planet Design Series,” a new merchandise collection that reimagines popular characters as space explorers.
Sanrio is a globally recognized lifestyle brand best known for creating Hello Kitty and a vast universe of characters that symbolize friendship and cuteness.
The new collection features Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Kuromi, Dear Daniel, and Charmmy Kitty as investigators searching the galaxy for the phantom “Tokimeki Planet,” outfitted in futuristic attire.
The items capture a cosmic aesthetic through the use of metallic silver colours and star motifs, blending “kawaii” charm with a sci-fi atmosphere.
The lineup features a variety of goods, including apparel, smartphone accessories, and storage items designed for daily use.
A standout piece is the Mascot Holder, which depicts the characters wearing silver headsets and space-themed costumes.
It features detailed resin parts and a metallic finish that highlights the “space investigator” theme of the series.

Sales officially began on January 28, 2026, at Sanrio stores and department store Sanrio corners across Japan, as well as the Sanrio Online Shop.
Release at select stores in Kyushu, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, and Okinawa will begin on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Purchase limits apply to the collection until February 3, 2026, restricting customers to one of each item per character, or eight pieces for the Secret Carabiner.
