“Rosalina’s Storybook” from Super Mario Galaxy is becoming a real book

“Rosalina’s Storybook,” the beloved and poignant in-game picture book from the classic video game Super Mario Galaxy, is being published as a real, physical book.
“Rosalina’s Storybook” is a key part of the 2007 Nintendo Wii game’s narrative, telling the touching and melancholic story of a young girl and her journey through the stars with the Lumas.

The new book is being released by the publisher Shogakukan and it features a deluxe binding, with a special paper cover and gold foil stamping.
All of the kanji in the book have “furigana” readings, making it easy for young children to read.

The announcement of the new book was made during the “Nintendo Direct 2025.9.12” presentation last week.
It was revealed alongside a new Nintendo Switch game collection, “Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2.”

The new Switch version of the game will reportedly feature new, additional pages for “Rosalina’s Storybook.”

However, it has been confirmed that this new, physical book version is a recreation of the original Wii version of the story only.

This new release offers fans of the classic game a new and beautiful way to experience one of its most memorable and emotional stories.
“Rosalina’s Storybook” is priced at ¥2,750 (approx. $19 USD/£14 GBP) and it is scheduled to be released on Thursday, the 2nd of October, 2025, the same day as the new Nintendo Switch game collection.
A full list of stockists can be found on Shogakukan’s official page for the book.
