Rare Gundam: Blue Destiny MG Gunpla Kit Returns to the US for Premium Bandai Week 2026

The “MG 1/100 PHILIP HUGHS’S GM DOMINANCE” joins a large selection of exclusive Gunpla kits, figures, and other collectibles returning for Premium Bandai Week 2026, which also offers a temporary reduction to the usual free-shipping threshold.
Image by Charlotte DavisGM Dominance originates from the Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny manga, which expands upon the original Sega Saturn video game trilogy and follows the Earth Federation’s Guinea Pig Team during the One Year War.

The series focuses on pilot Yuu Kajima and the mysterious Blue Destiny units, which use the experimental EXAM System to achieve extraordinary combat performance at considerable risk to their pilots.

The GM Dominance was developed as an experimental Earth Federation Mobile Suit to gather combat data for future GM models, with Philip Hughes eventually taking control of the machine after Yuu transferred to the Blue Destiny Unit 1.

Bandai originally released the exclusive Master Grade kit in October 2019, recreating Philip’s customized machine with its distinctive black, white, and yellow coloring and an extensive selection of weapons.

Based on the earlier “MG 1/100 GM Dominance,” the kit introduces newly molded exterior armor and backpack components to reproduce the specialized configuration seen in the manga.

Its biggest feature is the pair of autonomous Gun Turrets carried on the backpack, which can be detached and displayed separately to recreate their independent operation in combat.

The redesigned backpack uses movable mounting joints that allow the turrets to rotate as they are removed, with expandable holding rings securing their barrels when attached.

Each Gun Turret also features an articulated barrel assembly and a sliding drum magazine, with interchangeable components allowing builders to switch between their stored and deployed configurations.

The completed Mobile Suit can therefore be displayed with both turrets mounted on its back or positioned separately as autonomous weapons.

Additional equipment includes the GM Dominance’s distinctive Twin Beam Cannon, a Beam Saber and a shield, giving builders several options for close-range and ranged combat poses.

The Twin Beam Cannon can also be attached to the Mobile Suit’s arm, with the kit retaining the articulated internal structure associated with Bandai’s Master Grade GM designs.

Its construction incorporates engineering from the “MG 1/100 GM Sniper II,” another Earth Federation machine that has become a popular choice among collectors of Universal Century grunt suits.

A dedicated sheet of water-slide decals is also included, featuring Earth Federation insignia and additional markings designed for Philip’s customized Mobile Suit.

Other Universal Century Gunpla kits returning to Premium Bandai US include the exclusive “MG 1/100 V2 Assault Buster Gundam Ver.Ka” from Mobile Suit V Gundam, which combines the V2 Gundam’s Assault and Buster equipment into a heavily armed final configuration.

The V2 Assault Buster has also recently received another Japanese production run alongside four additional exclusive V Gundam kits, providing collectors with several opportunities to expand their Universal Century collections.
