Bandai Confirms Re-Release for 5 Exclusive V Gundam Gunpla Kits
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has announced a major new wave of Mobile Suit V Gundam Gunpla kit re-releases which will see five exclusive kits go back into production at the same time.
The lineup spans Master Grade, High Grade and RE/100, with the heavily armed “MG 1/100 V2 Assault Buster Gundam Ver.Ka” joined by the “HG 1/144 Second V” and three different machines derived from the Gun-EZ.

Mobile Suit V Gundam originally aired in 1993 and follows 13-year-old Uso Ewin as he becomes caught up in the League Militaire’s resistance against the Zanscare Empire during the Universal Century’s later years.

The Victory Gundam serves as Uso’s primary Mobile Suit through much of the series before being succeeded by the more powerful V2 Gundam, which introduces the distinctive Minovsky Drive system and eventually receives separate Assault and Buster equipment packages.

Let’s take a closer look at all five exclusive Gunpla kits being re-released!
- “MG 1/100 V2 Assault Buster Gundam Ver.Ka” – ¥8,800 (approximately $56/£42), shipping January 2027

Recreates Uso’s V2 Gundam with both the Assault and Buster equipment installed, combining the additional defensive armor with the Mobile Suit’s largest collection of heavy weaponry.

The Assault and Buster components can be removed independently, allowing the kit to be displayed as the V2 Assault Gundam, V2 Buster Gundam or fully equipped V2 Assault Buster Gundam.

Its additional equipment includes the Mega Beam Rifle, Mega Beam Shield with three detachable Barrier Bits, Mega Beam Cannon, Spray Beam Pod, V.S.B.R. units, and six Micro Missile Pods.

The yellow and gold areas use matte gold plating, while updated internal-frame and exterior parts help support the weight of the expanded equipment.

- “HG 1/144 Second V” – ¥2,420 (approximately $15/£12), shipping February 2027

Based on the Second V from Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Mobile Suit V Gundam novel, the machine takes the place occupied by the V2 Gundam in the television anime.

Its newly reproduced equipment includes the Minovsky Drive Unit, Mega Beam Cannon, and Minovsky Shield, alongside altered armor sections separating it from the standard Victory Gundam.

The Minovsky Drive can open and close, while the Mega Beam Cannon can be positioned for firing or detached for close-range operation.

- “RE/100 1/100 Gunblaster” – ¥4,400 (approximately $28/£21), shipping January 2027

The Gunblaster develops the League Militaire’s mass-produced Gun-EZ into a higher-mobility machine through a large additional Booster Pack mounted across its back.

Its equipment includes a Beam Rifle, Beam Saber, Beam Bazooka, and Beam Shield, with the Booster Pack’s binders mounted on movable connection points.

- “RE/100 1/100 Gun-EZ Ground Type” – ¥4,400 (approximately $28/£21), shipping January 2027

This New Mobile Suit Variation version adapts the Gun-EZ for ground combat, adding redesigned components intended to represent the machine’s additional dust protection and terrestrial equipment.

New parts reproduce changes around the visor, forehead, Vulcan guns and antenna, alongside an armored twin Multi-Launcher fitted across the upper chest.

Its Beam Bazooka can also be mounted across the rear of the Mobile Suit when not in use.

- “RE/100 1/100 Gun-EZ Prototype (Rollout Color)” – ¥4,400 (approximately $28/£21), shipping January 2027

The prototype version depicts the Gun-EZ around the time of its initial rollout, before several of the fixed weapons and other components found on the completed production machine were installed.

Its molding recreates the subdued appearance of exposed, unpainted Gundarium alloy described in the original design material.

Newly designed water-transfer decals reproduce the distinctive line markings and caution markings associated with the prototype configuration.

The “HG 1/144 Second V” has already demonstrated strong demand among Gundam fans, finishing 12th in the “Premium Bandai Gunpla General Election 2026” after receiving 2,570 votes.

That result placed the relatively rarely represented machine ahead of a large number of better-known releases in a poll covering roughly 750 different Gunpla kits.
In Japan, all five kits are being offered through Premium Bandai Japan, with orders opening on October 7.
US builders do not need to wait for the latest production run to secure the “MG 1/100 V2 Assault Buster Gundam Ver.Ka,” as the kit is currently back in stock through Premium Bandai US for $105 and can be ordered immediately while stock lasts.

Bandai has not yet announced matching US re-releases for the other four kits, but the newly confirmed Japanese production runs make further Premium Bandai US listings likely, particularly as each has previously been offered through Bandai’s official US store.
