‘Raiders of the North’ Expansion Announced for Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition
Xbox Game Studios and development partners World’s Edge, Relic Entertainment, and Forgotten Empires officially announced the sixth expansion for Age of Empires IV on June 7, 2026.
Titled Raiders of the North, this Viking-themed content package is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The expansion introduces two new playable civilizations, the Vikings and the Scots, alongside four new missions for players to master.
Players can expect new gameplay systems, including naval-focused combat and expanded Crucible missions that support two-player cooperative play.
This announcement follows a series of successful updates for the Anniversary Edition, such as the May 7, 2026, release of Yue Fei’s Legacy and the November 4, 2025, launch of Dynasties of the East.
The official trailer for the expansion debuted during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, highlighting the Dominion of the North Sea setting and providing a first look at the upcoming factions.
Development remains a collaborative effort between Relic Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios to continue evolving the strategy experience for the global player base.
