Quattro Bajeena’s Exclusive Red Gundam Mk-III Gunpla Kit Officially Returns for US Re-Release
Image by Charlotte DavisAn exclusive 1/100 scale Gunpla based on the red Gundam Mk-III originally intended for Quattro Bajeena is officially returning for US builders thanks to another limited re-release.
The “RE/100 1/100 Gundam Mk-III Unit 8” recreates the distinctive crimson version of Anaheim Electronics’ prototype Mobile Suit that appears in the Universal Century spin-off Anaheim Laboratory Log.
Originally published through Yatate Bunko, Anaheim Laboratory Log explores previously undisclosed Mobile Suit development and testing records from Anaheim Electronics, with the Gundam Mk-III Unit 8 playing a central role in its first story.
The machine was developed as one of several Gundam Mk-III units and painted red with the intention of eventually becoming a new personal Mobile Suit for Quattro Bajeena.
That plan never came to pass, as the Unit 8 was forced into combat while being transported to an AEUG fleet after its escort encountered an Axis Mobile Suit unit.
AEUG pilot Boyd Swan instead took control of the Gundam after his own GM Custom was damaged, successfully using the prototype in battle before the machine itself suffered heavy damage and was returned to Granada rather than reaching Quattro.
Bandai first released this exclusive kit in 2018, using the standard RE/100 Gundam Mk-III as its base while replacing its predominantly blue exterior with the Unit 8’s much more striking red color scheme.
The RE/100 range uses the same 1/100 scale as Master Grade kits but with a more straightforward internal construction, giving the Gundam Mk-III a substantial finished size without requiring a complete inner frame.
The Unit 8’s red armor is recreated through the molded plastic rather than relying on painting, while newly designed water-slide decals add Anaheim Electronics and AEUG logos alongside a selection of caution markings.
Its weapons include the Gundam Mk-III’s long Beam Rifle, backpack-mounted Beam Cannons, Beam Sabers, and shield, with the saber handles removable from the shield for use in its hands.
The kit also retains the wide hip articulation and movable backpack equipment of the original RE/100 release, providing enough flexibility for both grounded and more dynamic action poses.
US builders are now getting another opportunity to secure the exclusive kit, with pre-orders for the “RE/100 1/100 Gundam Mk-III Unit 8,” priced at $50, currently open through Premium Bandai US ahead of shipping in February 2027.
Pre-orders opened on September 4, 2026, and are scheduled to remain available until January 16, 2027, although orders will close early if the available allocation sells out.
