Pre-orders open for wave of new and re-released “Gundam Wing” Gunpla kits

Bandai Spirits has announced several upcoming releases of HG Gunpla kits from the Gundam Wing series.
This includes two re-releases, as well as a new release, of High Grade (HG) 1/144 scale Gunpla model kits from the popular “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Dual Story G-Unit” manga series.

Gunpla, or “Gundam plastic models,” are highly detailed model kits of the mobile suits and other vehicles from the diverse “Gundam” anime franchise.
The High Grade (HG) line, introduced in 1990, is one of the most popular Gunpla grades, known for its 1/144 scale (approximately 12.5 cm tall), good articulation, detailed color separation, and relatively accessible price point, making them suitable for both beginners and experienced builders.

“Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Dual Story G-Unit,” published in North America as “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Last Outpost,” is a manga side story to the original “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing” anime.

Serialized from 1997 to 1998, it introduces an entirely new cast of characters and mobile suits, focusing on the asteroid colony MO-V and its struggle against OZ Prize, a subgroup of the OZ organization.
The reissued kits include the HG 1/144 Gundam Geminass 01, and the HG 1/144 Leo-R.
Joining them is a brand-new release, the HG 1/144 Leon.
- HG 1/144 Gundam Geminass 01

The HG 1/144 Gundam Geminass 01 boasts a completely new design by Akutsu, the original mechanical designer of Gundam Geminass 01.
Its sharp, heroic aesthetic is reproduced with entirely new molding, with fine details and precise color separation achieved through intelligent part division.

The head unit features a more refined and sharp design, while the backpack is highly detailed and includes movable verniers for dynamic posing.

Weapons, such as the Accelerate Rifle (with white-molded side parts for color accuracy) and the G Unit Shield (featuring white front armor and ball-jointed, movable arm connection parts), are reproduced with new molding.

The Beam Sword, complete with a pink clear-part beam effect, can be attached to and detached from the backpack.

A notable feature is the reproduction of the “linear lock bolt” replacement mechanism, allowing for the interchangeability of units and optional parts.
The kit also benefits from the latest HG movable format, with three movable joints at the chest, waist, and crotch, enabling a wide range of dynamic action poses despite its 1/144 scale.

Marking stickers are included to recreate numbering and other specific markings, adding to its authenticity.
This re-release will see the kit priced at 2,200 yen (approx. $14.92 USD / £11.24 GBP), in keeping with the price of its earlier re-release.
- HG 1/144 Leo-R

The HG 1/144 Leo-R recreates the mobile suit piloted by Kratz Shelby, one of the formidable “Three Stardust Knights” from “G-Unit.”

These knights serve as antagonists, piloting highly customized Leo units.
The Leo-R’s distinctive, knight-like shape is faithfully reproduced with new molding, including its unique hair-like extension balancer, which is movable to recreate its appearance in the manga.

The head is newly sculpted with a distinctive design, and a foil sticker is used for the internal mechanical sensor to emphasize its custom nature.
The legs are reproduced with new parts, offering more flexibility compared to the standard Leo.

The main weapon, the Beam Duel Lancer, is included, along with dedicated holding hands and open hands to allow for various action poses seen in the series.

This latest Leo-R re-release will maintain the same price as the earlier release this year. It will be priced at 2,420 yen (approx. $16.42 USD / £12.36 GBP).
- HG 1/144 Leo-N

The HG 1/144 Leo-N is a new Gunpla kit, representing another custom Leo variant piloted by Broom Brooks, another member of the “Three Stardust Knights.”

The Leo-N is a heavily armored mobile suit, emphasizing power and defense, and its sturdy form is accurately reproduced by the kit

The distinctive head and chest parts are also newly sculpted to reflect its customized nature.

The kit includes a warrior axe, precisely color-coded with molding, and features a movable shoulder base that allows for dynamic posing.

Two beam sabers are also included, with the ability to be stored in the shoulder for a sleek appearance.

The new Leo-N kit will be priced at 2,640 yen (approx. $17.91 USD / £13.49 GBP).
Reservations for these kits are currently open on Premium Bandai and all three products are scheduled to ship to customers starting from October 2025.
