Pre-orders open for new Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash Gunpla kit
A new, exclusive Gunpla kit from the movie Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash has been made available for pre-order.
The new model is the “HG 1/144 Messer F02 Type with Minelayer Equipment,” which is being sold through the Premium Bandai online store.
Premium Bandai is Bandai’s direct-to-consumer service that offers limited-run and exclusive items, such as special versions of model kits, that are not available through general retail channels.
The Messer is the main mass-produced mobile suit used by the anti-Earth Federation organization, Mafty, in the Hathaway’s Flash storyline.
The recently announced sequel, “Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Witch of Circe”, will be released later this year and will continue the story from the first movie as Hathaway Noah grapples with his role in Mafty.
This new High Grade (HG) model kit is a 1/144 scale representation of the formidable mobile suit.
The kit’s main feature is the newly sculpted “Minelayer Unit”, a large piece of equipment mounted to the mobile suit’s rear skirt armor.
To accommodate this new equipment, the rear skirt armor has been engineered with new parts that allow for a wider range of articulation, enabling more dynamic and faithful posing.
The model also retains the highly flexible “Vectored Tail Stabilizers” that can be positioned freely to match various action stances.
For armaments, the kit comes equipped with a long-barrel beam rifle, a beam saber, and a shield.
The base model of the Messer is known for its wide range of motion, allowing for deep, natural-looking forward bends and other poses.
As a bonus, the kit also includes the necessary parts to build the commander-type variant of the Messer head, giving builders an alternative display option.
Priced at 3,740 yen (approx. $25.42 USD / £18.81 GBP), pre-orders for the new “HG 1/144 Messer F02 Type with Minelayer Equipment” Gunpla kit began on Thursday, July 10th via Premium Bandai.
The Premium Bandai exclusive kit is scheduled to be shipped to customers in August 2025.
