Pokémon Launches New Coffee Collab With Pokédex-Themed Cans

A new collaboration between Pokémon and one of Japan’s top canned coffee brands has officially been released.
To celebrate 30 years of Pokémon, a special collection of “Pokémon Pokédex Cans” are being released by BOSS Coffee, one of beverage manufacturer Suntory’s most iconic products.

Since the original Pokémon games released in February 1996, the series has grown into a massive global phenomenon where players explore diverse regions, battling and befriending a huge variety of unique creatures on their journey to become a champion.

The promotional theme for the “BOSS Coffee x Pokémon 30th Anniversary” collab encourages fans to “discover something new in their everyday coffee”.

To achieve this, the sides of the special cans feature colorful character illustrations alongside detailed Pokédex information for various iconic creatures.

Fans will be able to collect cans featuring artwork of the classic starter trios from the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova regions, alongside Pikachu and Eevee.

The updated BOSS Coffee packaging officially launched on June 2, 2026, revamping five core canned coffee blends from the BOSS series.

- BOSS Rainbow Mountain Blend
- Features Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, and Snivy.

- Features Charmander, Totodile, Turtwig, and Tepig

- BOSS Unsweetened Black
- Features Squirtle, Treecko, Chimchar, and Oshawott.

- Premium BOSS Slightly Sweet
- Features Eevee, Chikorita, Torchic, and Piplup.

The Rainbow Mountain Blend and Luxurious Slightly Sweet varieties are also receiving a complete flavor renewal alongside their visual updates.
Alongside the standard cans, the Mix-It-Yourself Craft Boss Cafe 2-Bottle Pack with Pokémon Charm is also available for purchase.

This set includes two 340ml bottles of coffee base in either Unsweetened or Slightly Sweet varieties and comes with one of four exclusive 30th-anniversary acrylic charms.

To celebrate the launch of the collaboration, Suntory is running a series of “BOSS Coffee x Pokémon 30th Anniversary” promotional campaigns offering exclusive themed merchandise.
By purchasing eligible six-packs, customers can enter a lottery to win one of three highly unique “Boss-jan” jackets.

These extremely rare clothing items are inspired by Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, featuring functional built-in accessories like a flower-carrying backpack, a glowing LED light, and a functional water gun.

A separate QR code campaign is also giving fans the chance to win special footprint-themed t-shirts.



Each 185g “BOSS Coffee x Pokémon 30th Anniversary” canned coffee is priced at 165 yen (approx. $1 USD / £1 GBP).

The “BOSS Coffee x Pokémon 30th Anniversary” Mix-It-Yourself Craft Boss Cafe 2-Bottle Pack carries a retail price of 736 yen (approx. $5 USD / £4 GBP).

These special collaborative beverages are being sold at participating supermarkets and retail locations nationwide across Japan and are not expected to be stocked in vending machines.
