Pocketpair trolls Nintendo and Pokémon with reveal of new Palworld sim game spin-off ‘Palfarm’

Two major new announcements have been made by the developer Pocketpair for its massively popular monster-taming and survival game, Palworld.
In a move that is sure to raise some eyebrows, the first announcement is for a brand-new, spin-off game titled Palworld: Palfarm.

This new title is a farming simulation game that shares a number of striking similarities with Pokémon Pokopia, a new life simulation game that was announced by Nintendo just last week.

This announcement comes as Pocketpair is currently embroiled in a major, ongoing lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, which includes claims of copyright and patent infringement related to the original Palworld.

In the new Palworld: Palfarm, players will move to an island inhabited by Pals and will work with them to cultivate a farm by planting seeds, watering crops, and building a home, with the ultimate goal of creating a paradise that will attract more Pals.

This premise is very similar to that of the recently revealed Pokémon Pokopia, where the player character works with Pokémon to create a welcoming environment.
In a second, completely separate announcement, a new, in-game collaboration has been revealed for the original Palworld game.
The new crossover will be a partnership with the cult-classic, high-speed, “ultraviolent” retro first-person shooter, ULTRAKILL.
This collaboration will bring iconic characters and weapons from the brutal, hellscape shooter into the world of Palworld.

The release date for the ULTRAKILL collaboration will be announced soon.
Palworld: Palfarm has been announced for the PC via Steam, and its release date has not yet been decided.
