Official Junji Ito Coloring Book Allows You To Color Some of His Most Iconic Works
A special commemorative release has officially launched in Japan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary horror manga artist Junji Ito.
Asahi Shimbun Publications has published the Junji Ito Coloring Book Selection, marking the first official coloring book for the famous creator.
Junji Ito is widely celebrated as one of the greatest masters of horror manga in the world.
His terrifying tales often explore the grotesque, the uncanny, and the darkest depths of the human psyche.
The author made his professional debut in 1987 with Tomie, a story about an unnaturally beautiful girl who drives her admirers to madness and violence.
Since then, he has created numerous iconic works, including Uzumaki, a chilling narrative about a town cursed by supernatural spirals.
These horrifying creations have now been adapted into a unique interactive format for fans to enjoy.

This publication includes 32 coloring pages adapted directly from his original colored artwork.
Fans can color iconic characters and scenes from stories like Tomie, Soichi, Lovesick Dead, The Hanging Balloons, and Uzumaki.
The book also features 16 pages of full-color illustrations for reference or display.
Readers will find helpful coloring tips, an exclusive interview discussing light and perspective, and a bonus appendix to craft small paper envelopes.
- Junji Ito x garden Paper-Cutting Selection
This upcoming companion book translates his terrifying art into the delicate craft of paper-cutting.
It contains approximately 50 different designs ranging from beginner-friendly to highly advanced techniques.
To celebrate these releases, an official coloring and paper-cutting contest is currently being held on X.
Fans who purchase the books can participate by posting their completed pages on the social media platform.
Winners of the contest will receive special prizes, including an exclusive sticker set and an autograph directly from Junji Ito.
The artist shared a humorous comment regarding the new publication, noting that he carefully supervised the fine details of the line work.
He encouraged fans to color outside the lines and use their own imagination, rather than simply copying his original color palettes.
He jokingly suggested that fans who want to do both could always buy two copies of the book to experience two different ways of playing.
