Nintendo’s newest official store gets an official opening date

Nintendo has officially revealed the opening date of its newest flagship retail outlet, “Nintendo FUKUOKA”.
The new store was announced earlier this year and is the fourth official Nintendo retail location in the country.
It will be the first to be established in the Kyushu region, demonstrating the company’s commitment to reaching its substantial fanbase outside of Japan’s primary metropolitan centers.

It will be located on the 8th floor of Amu Plaza Hakata, a large and popular shopping center situated directly above the busy JR Hakata Station.

Hakata Station is the main transportation hub of Fukuoka City and a key gateway to the entire island of Kyushu, ensuring that Nintendo FUKUOKA will be accessible to both local residents and tourists.
Nintendo’s new store will be opening in the same 8th floor location as the original Pokémon Center Fukuoka, which closed earlier this year prior to re-opening in a larger location within the nearby Hakata Marui department store.

Nintendo FUKUOKA follows the successful launches of “Nintendo TOKYO,” which opened first in the capital, followed by “Nintendo OSAKA,” and most recently, “Nintendo KYOTO.”

Like its predecessors, the Fukuoka store is expected to offer an immersive shopping experience featuring a wide array of official merchandise, including character goods and apparel from iconic Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Splatoon, in addition to the latest game consoles and software.

Given the high demand experienced at the opening of previous Nintendo stores, it is common for the company to implement a system, such as timed entry tickets or a lottery, to manage crowds and ensure a smooth visitor experience.
For the immediate opening period, specific details regarding store entry procedures have not yet been finalized.

These details are expected to be announced by Nintendo closer to the opening date.
Nintendo FUKOKA will open its doors on Thursday, the 14th of November 2025, and the store’s debut also coincides with a festive celebration at its location.
JR Hakata City, the complex that houses Amu Plaza Hakata, has already announced its theme for the upcoming holiday season: “City of Light: Hakata – HAPPY HOLIDAYS in HAKATA with SUPER MARIO -.”

This collaboration will see the entire JR Hakata City area, including the prominent outdoor square at the Hakata Exit, adorned with dazzling illuminations and artwork inspired by Super Mario characters throughout the winter.
