Bandai Namco has officially revealed a new arcade game based on the Resident Evil 2 Remake.
The “RESIDENT EVIL RE:2 ARCADE” cabinet is set to bring the terrifying world of the acclaimed remake to amusement centers.
The original Resident Evil 2 Remake is a critically acclaimed modern reimagining of the classic 1998 video game.
Players take control of familiar protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they fight to survive a viral outbreak in Raccoon City.
The base video game is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
This new arcade cabinet is a light gun shooter designed to provide an incredibly immersive horror experience.
The machine incorporates several physical gimmicks to heighten the tension and simulate the terrifying events on screen.
A realistic gun controller features haptic feedback to accurately emulate weapon recoil for an authentic shooting sensation.
A compressed air system ensures players will be hit with blasts of air to directly feel the impact of in-game actions.
A vibrating floor shakes the base of the cabinet to realistically simulate tense situations and the approaching footsteps of creatures.
A newly released trailer confirms the appearance of iconic monsters such as Lickers and the imposing Tyrant.
Players can also find familiar items scattered throughout the game, including health-restoring Green Herbs and collectible Mr. Raccoon figures.
This arcade adaptation features several exclusive scenarios and encounters not seen in the original console release.
The promotional footage shows the protagonists facing off against Hunter Gammas, an enemy type that originally debuted in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
The trailer also reveals a brand new sequence where Claire meets the mysterious spy Ada Wong in an outdoor environment.
Bandai Namco is planning to launch the full version of the game in amusement centers across Japan, Europe, and the United States.
Public location testing for the arcade cabinet will begin at selected venues in Japan in mid-March 2026.
