Wizards of the Coast revealed new products for the highly successful “Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY” crossover.

This second wave of products, which includes collectible “Scene Boxes” and a “Chocobo Bundle,” continues the celebration of Square Enix’s iconic role-playing game franchise within the world’s most popular trading card game (TCG).

The initial “Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY” set, which was the first Universes Beyond release to be fully Standard-legal, launched earlier in 2025 and was met with enthusiasm by fans, reportedly setting sales records for the TCG.

This upcoming release aims to capitalize on that success by offering new collector-focused items that highlight beloved characters, famous scenes, and the signature aesthetic of the FINAL FANTASY series.

The two new Final Fantasy-themed products revealed as part of this announcement are the “Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY Scene Box” and the “Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY Chocobo Bundle.”

The Scene Box is designed to appeal directly to fans of the RPG’s narrative moments.

Each box focuses on a famous scene from one of four mainline FINAL FANTASY games: the original “FINAL FANTASY,” “FINAL FANTASY VIII,” “FINAL FANTASY IX,” and “FINAL FANTASY XV.”

The specific scenes featured are “Garland of the Chaos Temple,” “Omen of Fate,” “Battle of Alexandria,” and “Camp Companions.”

Each Scene Box contains six new, borderless foil Magic cards.

When these six cards are lined up, they form a panoramic image of the famous scene, creating a stunning visual display.

Artwork and card details for the “FINAL FANTASY,” “FINAL FANTASY VIII,” and “FINAL FANTASY XV” Scene Boxes have been released:

The individual cards for the “FINAL FANTASY IX” Scene Box are expected to be revealed at a later date.

Each box also includes three Play Booster packs from the main set, six art cards, and a display easel.

The “Chocobo Bundle” is centered around the franchise’s most lovable and recognizable mascot, the Chocobo.

Chocobos are large, flightless birds that have served as reliable mounts, companions, and sometimes combatants throughout nearly every mainline FINAL FANTASY title.

This bundle is packed with themed content, including:

  • Ten “Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY Play Booster” packs.
  • Thirty-two full-art basic lands—sixteen non-foil and sixteen foil—that depict “famous places from FINAL FANTASY.”
  • Ten special foil “Chocobo Track” basic lands.

  • A selection of borderless “Chocobo Bundle Cards”, which feature existing MTG Final Fantasy cards with new art by Japanese artists and illustrators.

  • An adorable foil promotional card, “Paradise Chocobo,” which is a unique version of the iconic Magic card “Bird of Paradise.”
  • A Chocobo-themed clickable life wheel.

The foil cards included in the “Chocobo Bundle” utilize a new foil treatment called “Chocobo Track Foil.”

One of these special cards is a borderless version of the classic Magic card “Snapcaster Mage,” which is not available in the main Final Fantasy set or Commander decks.

In addition to the product releases, Wizards of the Coast will host “Commander Box League” events at WPN (Wizards Play Network) stores from December 5th to December 11th.

Participants in this league will build a Commander deck exclusively using cards opened from a “Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY Play Booster Box.”

As a commemorative gift, participants will receive a foil promo card of “Yuna, Arch Summoner” with new art by Miki Yamashita, though this promo card is not permitted for use in the league itself.

These new products reinforce the broad appeal of the Universes Beyond initiative, which is integrating various intellectual properties such as Final Fantasy, Star Trek and Marvel Super Heroes into the Magic: The Gathering framework.

Both the “Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY Scene Box” and the “Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY Chocobo Bundle” will be released on Friday, the 5th of December, 2025.
