New Gundam SEED wireless speakers are shaped like the heads of popular mobile suits
BANDAI SPIRITS has unveiled several new additions to its “Mobile Suit Gundam Speaker Series”.
This line of collectible audio devices are modeled after the distinctive heads of various mobile suits from the iconic “Gundam” franchise.
The “Mobile Suit Gundam” series, which began in 1979, has spawned numerous anime series, films, manga, video games, and an immensely popular line of plastic model kits known as Gunpla.
The new speakers draw heavily from “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM,” an animated film released in January 2024, which continued the story of the “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED” universe.
The film introduced updated versions of classic mobile suits and new designs, many of which are now being featured in this speaker collection.
The line-up of head-shaped speakers from “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM” includes:
- Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam
This speaker was originally released earlier this year and is being re-released due to its popularity.
The Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam is Kira Yamato’s upgraded mobile suit in the film, a powerful and iconic design.
- Destiny Gundam Spec II
This features the improved version of Shinn Asuka’s mobile suit, known for its powerful beam sword and wings of light.
- Duel Blitz Gundam
A new mobile suit introduced in “SEED FREEDOM”, piloted by Yzak Joule and based on the two Duel and Blitz Gundams.
- Strike Rouge
This features the recognizable pink mobile suit, often piloted by Cagalli Yula Athha.
- Lightning Buster Gundam
This new Gundam is an upgraded version of the Buster Gundam from the original Gundam SEED series.
- Infinite Justice Gundam Type-2 Head Speaker ver.2
The Infinite Justice Gundam Type-2 is Athrun Zala’s upgraded mobile suit in “SEED FREEDOM” and is known for its strong close-quarters combat capabilities and distinctive flight mode.
In addition to the head-shaped speakers, the series also includes the “Z’Gok Room Light”.
A unique feature of some of the room light is interconnectivity with the Infinite Justice Gundam Type-2 speaker.
The Z’Gok is an iconic amphibious mobile suit from the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” series and a version was introduced in Gundam SEED FREEDOM as a disguise for the Infinite Justice Gundam Type-2.
The head of the Z’Gok can be removed and replaced with the Infinite Justice Gundam Type-2 speaker to replicate the scene where the Gundam’s disguise was revealed.
These “Mobile Suit Gundam Speaker Series” items will primarily be available as prizes in Japanese arcade crane games and other amusement facilities, a common distribution method for collectible merchandise from BANDAI SPIRITS’ Banpresto brand.
They will be released between July and October 2025.
In addition to the new Gundam SEED FREEDOM themed speakers, a pair of speakers based on Gundams from the GQuuuuuuX series will also be produced, and so will a Hatsune Miku inspired Haro speaker.
