New Demon Slayer merch turns the series’ Nichirin Swords into practical items

Japanese merchandise company Movic has announced a new line of collectible paper knives based on the popular anime series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
The new products are detailed, miniature recreations of the “Nichirin Swords” used by the members of the Demon Slayer Corps.
In the world of Demon Slayer, Nichirin Swords are special blades forged from a unique ore that absorbs sunlight, the primary weakness of demons.

Each sword is unique to its owner, with the blade changing color to reflect the user’s abilities, and each features a distinctive “tsuba,” or handguard, design.

This new collection of paper knives translates these iconic weapons into detailed, approximately 15-centimeter-long desk accessories.
Each paper knife faithfully reproduces the unique hanguard and color scheme of a specific character’s sword.

The items are designed to be used as functional letter openers, but can also be enjoyed as decorative display objects.
The lineup features the swords of five different Demon Slayers:
- Tanjiro Kamado’s Nichirin Sword

The classic black blade and circular handguard of the series protagonist.

- Giyu Tomioka’s Nichirin Sword

The blue blade and hexagonal handguard of the Water Hashira.

- Shinobu Kocho’s Nichirin Sword

The unique, stinger-tipped blade and butterfly-shaped handguard of the Insect Hashira.

- Obanai Iguro’s Nichirin Sword

The serpentine, wave-like blade and unique handguard of the Serpent Hashira.

- Sanemi Shinazugawa’s Nichirin Sword

The serrated green blade and pinwheel-shaped handguard of the Wind Hashira.

Each of the five paper knives is priced at ¥3,300 (approx. $22 USD/£17 GBP) and pre-orders are currently open at various retailers, including Movic’s own online store, AmiAmi, and Animate.
The “Demon Slayer Paper Knife” collection is scheduled to be released on Friday, the 29th of August, 2025.
