My Hero Academia Announces Huge 2-Day Fan Expo to Close Out Its 10th Anniversary
Image by James RichardsonMy Hero Academia has announced a huge two-day fan expo for 2027, with the largest real-world event ever created for the anime set to close out its year-long 10th anniversary celebrations.
Officially titled “HEROACA ULTRA EXPO,” the event will take place across multiple halls at Makuhari Messe on April 17 and 18, 2027, with organizers promising a wide range of activities dedicated to the anime and its fans.
The expo is being positioned as the finale of “My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary,” the commemorative project launched to celebrate ten years since the television anime first aired in Japan on April 3, 2016.
My Hero Academia concluded its main television anime run with its final season in December 2025, but the franchise has continued through new animation, live events, exhibitions, merchandise and other anniversary projects throughout 2026.
One of the first major announcements was the special episode “More,” which adapted the additional epilogue created by Kohei Horikoshi for the final volume of the manga and returned to Deku and his former classmates several years after the main story.
The anniversary has also taken My Hero Academia’s music around the world through “My Hero Academia IN Concert,” with composer Yuki Hayashi’s soundtrack performed live alongside scenes from across the anime.
That world tour recently led to another anniversary project, with Hayashi teaming up with German band Electric Callboy for “You Say Run -10th Anniversary ver.-,” a new English vocal version of one of the anime’s best-known pieces of music.
Another major celebration is the “OUR HERO” 10th anniversary exhibition, which will open in Tokyo in January 2027 before moving to Osaka in March, placing it immediately before the Ultra Expo in the anniversary calendar.
The franchise will also hold “ANI-ROCK FES. 2026 My Hero Academia PLUS ULTRA LIVE” in November, adding a dedicated two-day music festival to the growing series of anniversary events.
HEROACA ULTRA EXPO will act as the final large-scale event of the project, with organizers describing it as the biggest event in the history of the My Hero Academia anime.
The fan expo will use both Makuhari Messe Exhibition Halls 2 and 3 and the venue’s Event Hall, splitting the event between dedicated exhibition and stage areas across the two days.
Exactly what fans will find inside those areas has not yet been announced, with details about the attractions, stage program, participating guests and ticket sales being deliberately held back for a second reveal.
Organizers have confirmed that the next major announcement is planned for early October 2026, when the event content, guest lineup, ticket information and other details are expected to be revealed.
HEROACA ULTRA EXPO will take place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on Saturday, April 17 and Sunday, April 18, 2027.
