mofusand x Ultraman Collab Unveiled for Tokusatsu Series’ 60th Anniversary

A charming new merchandise collaboration is set to go on sale, commemorating the upcoming 60th anniversary of the Ultraman franchise.
The “mofusand x Ultraman” collection features the popular feline characters created by illustrator Juno dressed as iconic Tokusatsu heroes and monsters.

Ultraman is a pioneering special effects series that established the “giant hero vs. kaiju” genre in Japan and continues to be a global cultural icon.

mofusand is a character brand famous for its “surreal but cute” illustrations of cats, particularly the “Same-Nyan” series depicting cats wearing shark costumes.

This collaboration introduces a new accessory plush brand called “Kiramekko,” which is characterized by the glittering eyes of the mascots.
The concept behind the design is to brighten the user’s daily life and allow them to keep their favorite characters close at hand.

Though designs are yet to be revealed, manufacturer Tsuburaya Fields Holdings has confirmed that the adorable cats will be depicted wearing full-body suits representing the silver giant and various famous monsters from the series.
The first release in this line is an “Advance Special Edition” plush featuring a cat in an Ultraman suit with a unique pastel color scheme.

Following this, a “Standard Edition” series is planned for release in July 2026 to coincide with the official anniversary celebrations.
The Standard Edition will be sold in blind boxes containing one of six possible variations, including both Ultra Heroes and Kaiju.
The Advance Special Edition plush is priced at 2,530 yen (approx. $17 USD / £13 GBP).
Sales for this exclusive version will begin on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

It will be available physically at the Tsuburaya Fields Holdings booth during the AnimeJapan event held on March 28 and 29.
Online sales will be handled through the official Tsuburaya Store ONLINE.
The manufacturer has confirmed that this special edition will not be sold at the official mofusand “Mofumofu Store” or its associated web shop.
