Mermaid themed Sanrio mascots are the cutest new capsule toys

Sanrio is set to launch a magical new capsule mascot collection featuring some of their most popular characters.
The new “Sanrio Characters Mermaid Swing Collection,” produced by Bandai, transforms fan-favorite characters into charming mermaid-themed mascots, promising a delightful addition to any collector’s display.
This capsule mascot collection joins the recently released summer themed Sanrio capsule toys, where Hello Kitty and friends can be seen having a fantastic summer vacation.

Capsule toys, or Gashapon, are highly popular vending machine toys in Japan that offer an exciting element of surprise, as fans receive a randomly dispensed capsule containing a collectible item.
Bandai, a leading Japanese toy and video game company, is a prominent manufacturer of these capsule toys, frequently collaborating with major franchises like Sanrio to create exclusive merchandise.

The collection features five different figures, each depicting a popular Sanrio character transformed into a mermaid, complete with a lustrous pearl finish tail.

Let’s take a closer look at all the characters available as part of the “Sanrio Mermaid Swing Collection”!

These adorable, mermaid-themed figures will be available at capsule toy vending machines located nationwide across Japan, with each capsule costing 300 yen.
The “Sanrio Characters Mermaid Swing” collection is scheduled to begin rolling out from the fourth week of June 2025.
