Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Switch 2 Edition Set to Launch in Japan

Dragami Games has officially announced the launch details for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
They have confirmed a Japanese release date of March 26, and this new edition of the hack-and-slash action title will be available for 7,590 yen.

The developer is providing a flexible option for players who already own the game on the initial Switch hardware.
Users who purchased the original Switch version will be able to upgrade to the new edition via an “Upgrade Pack” for a reduced price of 1,100 yen, a common practice in cross-generation releases.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a remake of the popular 2012 original and has maintained strong commercial momentum since its staggered platform rollout.

The title first launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on September 12, 2024.
It later arrived on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on December 2, 2024.

The game’s sales have proven successful, with total units surpassing 300,000 globally as of August 12, 2025.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is designed to take full advantage of the new console’s capabilities.

Dragami Games has confirmed that this release features numerous graphical enhancements that were not possible on the previous Switch version.
The Switch 2 upgrade focuses on performance, delivering significantly improved stability at a targeted 60 frames per second in both handheld and docked modes.

This optimization addresses a key area of focus for players transitioning to the next-generation console.
The Switch 2 version will also introduce exclusive content in the form of “Gun Shooting Mode.”

This arcade-style mini-game is unlocked after players clear the main story in either “RePOP Mode” or “ORIGINAL Mode.”
In this new experience, players assume a fixed-turret position, utilizing the Chainsaw Blaster to eliminate waves of oncoming zombies across three “WAVE” phases per stage.

The mode is optimized for the new hardware, supporting mouse-style aiming with the Joy-Con 2 controller for precise targeting.
