LEGO has officially revealed its newest Pokémon building set, with the majestic Fire-type Arcanine taking center stage as the largest model in the latest wave of brick-built Pokémon releases.

Pokémon first debuted in 1996 and has since grown into one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises through its video games, anime, trading card game and merchandise, with Arcanine remaining one of the original Generation I Pokémon and a long-time fan favorite.

Known as Pokédex No. 059, Arcanine has earned a legendary reputation thanks to its noble appearance, thunderous roar and incredible running speed, with ancient stories within the Pokémon world describing it as a creature admired for its beauty and bravery.

The new LEGO interpretation recreates Arcanine using 1,190 pieces, making it the biggest of the three Pokémon sets arriving in this latest collection.

Orange, tan and black elements are combined to recreate the Pokémon’s iconic coat, while layered building techniques are used to give its flowing mane and tail a fluffy appearance.

Builders will also be able to pose Arcanine thanks to articulated joints in the head, ears and legs, while printed pieces accurately recreate its distinctive facial features, including its eyes and nose.
