Krispy Kreme Officially Reveals New Pokémon 30th Anniversary Doughnuts Ahead of August Release

Krispy Kreme is celebrating 30 years of Pokémon with a major new US collaboration, transforming Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Jigglypuff into colorful doughnuts alongside a classic Poké Ball design.
The Pokémon Doughnut Collection brings six new creations to participating Krispy Kreme shops across the country, backed by special packaging, collectible cups, golden Doughnut Dots and a one-day giveaway for fans who arrive wearing Pokémon gear.

Pokémon began with the original video games in Japan in 1996 and has since expanded across games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, anime, movies and countless collaborations, making 2026 the franchise’s official 30th anniversary year.

Krispy Kreme and Pokémon have previously teamed up for collections in markets including Australia and South Korea, but the latest campaign finally gives US fans their own full lineup to hunt down.

The Bulbasaur Doughnut uses an Original Glazed base dipped in vanilla-flavored icing, with green frosting leaves and a Bulbasaur piece completing the Grass-type-inspired design.

Charmander gets one of the richer options in the collection, with an unglazed shell filled with chocolate toasted marshmallow flavor, covered in orange caramel icing and finished with red and gold sugar before adding the Fire-type Pokémon on top.

The Squirtle Doughnut starts with an Original Glazed doughnut covered with cotton candy-flavored buttercreme, sanding sugar and white nonpareils, with a surfing Squirtle decoration leaning into the Water-type Pokémon’s playful side.

Pikachu receives a bright citrus-flavored creation made from an unglazed shell filled with lemon-flavored Kreme, dipped in vanilla icing and decorated with yellow drizzle and nonpareils before being topped with the franchise mascot.

Jigglypuff’s doughnut uses an Original Glazed base topped with strawberry-flavored buttercreme and strawberry cookie crumbles, matching the Pokémon’s familiar pink coloring while giving the lineup another fruit-focused option.

The sixth design turns the Poké Ball itself into a doughnut, dipping an Original Glazed base in vanilla icing before adding red sprinkles and chocolate piping to recreate the familiar red, white and black pattern.

Fans wanting more than the individual designs can also pick up a Pokémon Specialty Dozen presented in limited-edition packaging featuring the five Pokémon represented throughout the collaboration.

Krispy Kreme is also giving its Original Glazed Doughnut Dots a special anniversary treatment, with sets of 10 coated in gold dusting and served inside one of five limited Pokémon cup designs.

A smaller Pokémon Specialty 6-Count will be sold through select retailers including Walmart, Kroger, Publix and Stater Bros, containing one Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Charmander and Poké Ball doughnut alongside two Original Glazed doughnuts.

The retail assortment does not include the Bulbasaur or Squirtle designs, so fans looking to try all six will need to visit a participating Krispy Kreme shop or order directly through their pickup and delivery services.
Krispy Kreme is adding another reason to visit on August 22, when anyone wearing Pokémon related clothing or costumes to a participating US shop can receive one free Original Glazed Doughnut, with the offer limited to one per guest and available through in-store and drive-thru orders.

Pre-orders for the Pokémon collection opened on August 13 through Krispy Kreme’s website and run through August 17, allowing customers to arrange pickup or delivery for August 18 onward at participating locations.
The Pokémon Doughnut Collection officially launches across participating US Krispy Kreme shops on August 18 and is currently scheduled to remain available in stores, drive-thrus and through online pickup and delivery until September 13, 2026, while supplies last.
