Krispy Kreme Japan to release exclusive “tsukimi” moon-viewing doughnut

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Japan has announced a new, limited-edition product that will be sold exclusively at its flagship Tokyo International Forum store.
The new item is the “Krispy Kreme Premium Tokyo Otsukimi Marron & Cream,” a special doughnut created for the autumn “tsukimi,” or moon-viewing, season.

The “Krispy Kreme Premium Tokyo” series is a line of high-end, artisanal doughnuts that are only available at this specific flagship location.
This new “Otsukimi Doughnut” is designed to look like a full moon floating in the night sky.

The base doughnut is covered in a bitter chocolate icing to represent the night sky.
A dollop of light, fluffy whipped cream is placed in the center, and on top of that is a round swirl of yellow “maron-an,” a sweet paste made from chestnuts, which represents the full moon.

The doughnut is then topped with a piece of soft “gyūhi,” a type of mochi, and a piece of candied chestnut to add to the autumnal flavor profile.
As a final, luxurious touch, the doughnut is sprinkled with gold flakes to represent the twinkling of the stars.
The result is an elegant, Japanese-style dessert that captures the feeling of the autumn season in a single, edible creation.
It is priced at ¥410 for takeout or ¥418 for dine-in.
The “Krispy Kreme Premium Tokyo Otsukimi Marron & Cream” will be sold for a limited time starting from Wednesday, the 3rd of September, 2025.
