Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Japan has announced its first-ever collaboration with the iconic video game character Pac-Man, who is celebrating his 45th anniversary in 2025.

Starting Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, three limited-edition Pac-Man-themed doughnuts will be available at all Krispy Kreme Doughnuts stores across Japan.

Pac-Man, the beloved arcade game that first captivated audiences in 1980, remains a global phenomenon with a dedicated fanbase.

To commemorate his 45th birthday on May 22nd, Krispy Kreme Japan is releasing a trio of fun and visually appealing doughnuts featuring familiar characters and elements from the classic game, offering a delicious taste of Pac-Man’s retro-pop world.

So, let’s take a look at the new Pac-Man themed doughnuts coming to Krispy Kreme this May!

  • “Pac-Man Custard Sprinkles” (410 yen take-out / eat-in 418 yen)

A playful ring doughnut filled with a subtly custard-flavored cream and topped with colorful sprinkles representing the ghosts. It also features a Pac-Man monaka (wafer).

  • “Ghost Chocolate” (410 yen take-out / eat-in 418 yen)

A treat for long-time fans, this chocolate cream-filled doughnut is topped with a vanilla and custard-flavored coating maze and adorable monaka ghosts, bringing the familiar game screen to life.

  • “Power Strawberry” (388 yen take-out / eat-in 396 yen)

This strawberry-flavored doughnut looks like the bonus items from Pac-Man. Filled with sweet and sour strawberry cream, it’s covered in strawberry icing and decorated with green cream and sugar.

Customers who purchase the “Pac-Man Dozen Half (6 pieces)” in-store (including QO Pickup) will receive one randomly distributed collaboration sticker per transaction, while supplies last.

There are several different sticker designs to collect, and lucky customers might even find a “winning sticker” that can be redeemed for a free Original Glazed® doughnut.

Adding to the excitement, the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Shibuya Cinema Tower store, located in the very Shibuya area where Pac-Man was born, will undergo a special Pac-Man-themed makeover for a limited time.

Pac-Man himself will be taking on the role of store manager for three special days at the Shibuya Cinema Tower store: Wednesday, May 14th (the launch day of the doughnuts), Wednesday, May 21st (the eve of his birthday), and Thursday, May 22nd (his actual birthday).
