Kotobukiya announces re-release of popular “Mega Man Battle Network” model kit

Kotobukiya has announced an upcoming re-release of its highly popular “Mega Man” plastic model kit from the Mega Man Battle Network series.
This re-release offers fans another opportunity to acquire a detailed and poseable figure of the iconic NetNavi, complete with impressive effect parts and versatile customization options.

The Mega Man Battle Network series, known as Mega Man EXE in Japan, is a spin-off from Capcom’s classic Mega Man franchise.
Launched in 2001, it reimagined Mega Man in a world where network technology is central to daily life, focusing on strategic RPG combat rather than traditional platforming.

Players control Lan Hikari in the real world and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, in the digital world, battling computer viruses and other online threats.

Kotobukiya’s plastic model kit of MegaMan.EXE leverages technology first developed for their existing Mega Man X plastic model series, ensuring intricate individual parts and faithful proportion recreation through CAD engineering, while maintaining an impressive range of articulation.

This allows for dynamic poses that accurately reflect the character’s appearance in the games and anime.

A key highlight of this reproduction is the extensive array of included accessories and interchangeable parts, allowing builders to recreate various iconic scenes and poses:
- Four Interchangeable Face Parts
- The kit comes with a default face, a smiling face, a shouting face, and a masked face, enabling a wide spectrum of expressions.

- Interchangeable Forearm Parts
- Builders can swap out forearm parts to display Mega Man with his signature Mega Buster, a powerful Cannon, or the versatile Sword arm.

- Three Sets of Interchangeable Hand Parts
- Includes closed fists and two types of open hands for various gripping and gesture options.

- Life Sword Effect Parts
- The most visually striking addition, these effect parts recreate Mega Man’s powerful Life Sword.
- Two different lengths of sword effects are included, and the impressive main Life Sword effect can be adjusted at three different blade angles, allowing it to be displayed from either the left or right arm.

The model is designed for enhanced posing with separately sold display bases.
By removing the detail cover parts on the back, the figure can be attached to Kotobukiya’s M.S.G (Modeling Support Goods) series bases, such as the New Flying Base and New Flying Base Plus, facilitating dynamic aerial or action poses.

The kit is also a partially pre-painted, multi-color kit, meaning that many parts come pre-colored, allowing users of all skill levels to achieve a visually accurate representation of Mega Man from the game simply by assembling the model, without extensive painting.

This reproduction of the MegaMan.EXE plastic model is a welcome announcement for fans of the Mega Man Battle Network series, offering another chance to own a high-quality, articulate representation of the character.
It is currently available to pre-order directly from Kotobukiya and is priced at 7,480 yen (approx. $52.48 USD / £38.95 GBP).
