Konami announces METAL GEAR SOLID Δ has shipped over 1 million units

Konami has announced that the new remake, METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, has surpassed one million total units shipped and sold worldwide.
This sales milestone was reached as of the 28th of August, the game’s official launch day, and combines the total number of physical copies shipped and digital versions sold across all platforms.
METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is a full, from-the-ground-up remake of the beloved 2004 PlayStation 2 classic, METAL GEAR SOLID 3 SNAKE EATER.

The new version faithfully recreates the original’s iconic story, characters, and music, but has been rebuilt in a modern engine with high-definition graphics and 3D audio.
It also introduces a number of new and updated features, such as a real-time battle damage system where wounds and burns are visibly rendered on the character model, and the option to play with a modern, third-person camera perspective for a more immersive experience.
The remake also sees the return of several fan-favorite bonus features from past versions of the game.
The humorous “Secret Theater” shorts from the 2005 Subsistence re-release have been included, as well as platform-exclusive mini-games, such as “Snake vs. Monkey” on the PlayStation 5 and Steam versions.
Looking ahead, a new, free online multiplayer mode called “FOX HUNT” is also scheduled to be released for the game.
This mode, which is based on the “Sneaking Mission” gameplay from the classic Metal Gear Online, is a tense, hide-and-seek-style experience that is planned for release in the autumn of 2025.
Due to the game’s popularity, it has already taken part in a number of collaboration campaigns, receiving its very own “Ichiban Kuji” lottery that includes a number of unique items such as a Snake tissue holder box.
It has also taken part in a promo with Amazon Japan based around CalorieMate, which features as an in-game item.
METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER was released on the 28th of August for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
