Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME adds new original character and story chapter

A major new update has been released for the recently launched mobile and PC game “Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME,” which adds a new, game-original playable character and the third chapter of the main story.
The new character is Sagan Shinomiya, who was first revealed in June as a key, original character for the game’s story.

She is the adoptive, non-blood-related older sister of the main heroine, Kikoru Shinomiya.
The new 5-star character, “[A Fate Warped by Dimensions] Sagan Shinomiya,” is a powerful defender who wields the 5-star “SH-Iugnil” shield to protect her allies in battle.

A new promotional video showcasing her in action has also been released.
To coincide with her implementation as a playable character, a new “Character Story” for Sagan has also been added to the game.
The story explores her awkward relationship with her younger sister, Kikoru, and her first meeting with the series’ protagonist, Kafka Hibino.

The update also includes the release of the third chapter of the game’s main story. In this new chapter, a weary Mina Ashiro is struggling to keep up with both her regular duties and the threat of the new “Dimension Kaiju.” To support her, Sagan Shinomiya is dispatched to the 3rd Division.
The story will explore the tensions that arise from her overwhelming combat power, but her perceived lack of teamwork.

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is a free-to-play RPG from Akatsuki Games, TOHO, and Production I.G, which features a fully-voiced, original story that branches off from the events of the hit anime and manga series.

The game was released on the 31st of August and has been a major success, with its pre-registration campaign surpassing 1.6 million sign-ups, which unlocked a variety of free in-game rewards for all players.
