JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure creator reveals new artwork for second beer can collab

The premium Japanese brewer Yebisu Beer is continuing its major collaboration with the celebrated manga artist Hirohiko Araki for its 135th anniversary.
Following the success of their first partnership, this new project has seen Araki create more original art to be featured on special limited-edition cans.
The collaboration’s theme revisits the “Bijin-ga,” or pictures of beautiful women, a classic advertising art form from the Meiji era when Yebisu was founded.

These artworks were traditionally used to convey a sense of elegance and luxury that reflected the brand’s premium image.
This ongoing project invites Hirohiko Araki, the creator of the globally successful manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, to create modern interpretations of this traditional art form.

Araki first teamed up with Yebisu earlier this year, creating two initial pieces of artwork to be featured on special edition cans of Yebisu Beer.

These designs were sold widely across Japan on 350ml and 500ml cans, starting from February, 2025.

His newest pieces for the brand features new original artowkr, rendered with his signature bold composition and vibrant, unconventional use of color.

These two pieces of unique art will be printed on new, limited-edition Yebisu Beer cans that will go on sale later this year.

A special promotional campaign will also give 5,000 consumers the chance to each win two sets of high-fidelity “Original Art Replica Design Cans.”
The standard commercial printing process used for the widely available cans cannot fully reproduce the rich and complex color palette of Araki’s original artwork.

The replica prize cans, however, will use a special, high-fidelity printing method to create a version that is a much more faithful reproduction of the source artwork’s colors.
To enter the contest, customers must purchase a six-pack of the collaboration cans and find a winning mark printed on the inside of the cardboard packaging.
Winners can then mail in a printed postcard found within the winning package to claim their prize.

The contest is open to residents of Japan aged 20 and over and the application period for the replica can contest will run from September 17th until December 31st, based on the postmark date.
The special replica cans are scheduled to be delivered to the winners around the beginning of February 2026.
The limited-edition Hirohiko Araki design Yebisu Beer cans will go on general sale on Wednesday, the 17th of September, 2025.
