Jigglypuff and Meloetta Take to the Stage in Pokémon Center’s New Musical Merch Line
The Pokémon Company has unveiled a new selection of musical-themed merchandise celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pokémon.
The “Pokémon Timeless Adventure” collection focuses heavily on the theme of singing and includes Pokémon known for their musical abilities, amongst others, enjoying the melodic festivities.
Developed by Game Freak, the monster-catching franchise tasks trainers with exploring diverse regions, battling gym leaders, and completing their comprehensive Pokedex.
This new merchandise wave references the Johto region, which was first introduced to players in the classic Gold and Silver titles.
The Johto region is remembered fondly by fans worldwide for its deep mythology, traditional Japanese aesthetics, and memorable creature designs.
The main promotional artwork depicts Pikachu relaxing alongside the three Johto starters as they listen to a retro radio broadcast.
The Johto starter trio includes the grass type Chikorita, the fire type Cyndaquil, and the water type Totodile.
Fans can find this charming illustration printed on several lifestyle goods, including a glittery clear file featuring a clever Pikachu silhouette cut into the thumb notch.
Tying into the musical theme, the company is also releasing two special figures starring the melodic monsters Jigglypuff and Meloetta.
Jigglypuff is famous for putting audiences to sleep with its lullabies, while the Mythical Meloetta is known for changing its form by singing ancient melodies.
By pressing a button located on the display base, owners can listen to an audio clip of the characters performing their signature vocal moves.
