Illuminate your room with new Death Note ‘book light’

A uniquely designed room illumination device, shaped to resemble the titular “Death Note” from the widely acclaimed manga series, written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, will be released later this year.
The “Death Note Book Light” is a close replica of the notebook used by Light Yagami in the series to kill anyone whose name is written in its pages.

Despite its book like external appearance, upon opening the “Death Note Book Light”, the integrated internal LED lights are activated, revealing its true function as a room light.
The illumination emitted by the LED lights is capable of transitioning through three distinct patterns, which are cycled through each time the book is opened or closed.

Users can choose from cool color tones, warm color tones, and a gradual, alternating flash between cool and warm color tones.
The inside of the book-shaped light is adorned with imagery of the shinigami Ryuk, which is revealed as the book is folded outwards for use as a light.
This design feature is intended to introduce an element of excitement and thematic engagement into the user’s living space.

The retail price of the “Death Note Book Light” has been set at 9,350 yen (approx. $63.12 USD/£48.74 GBP), including tax.
Pre-orders for the “Death Note Book Light” are currently being accepted through DMM.com, the official manufacturer of the product, until the 30th of April, with the room light set to be released and shipped in July 2025.
