hololive’s Usada Pekora issues statement as graduation rumors spread

The popular VTuber Usada Pekora, who is affiliated with the group hololive, has issued an official statement regarding rumors that she is planning to “graduate,” or retire from her activities.
The speculation began following her “Usada Pekora 6th Anniversary Live” concert, which was held on the 31st of August, 2025.

The opening animation for the concert featured a scene where Pekora looks back with a tear in her eye as she opens a door marked “VIP.”

This brief, emotional scene was interpreted by some viewers as a “hint” that she might be planning to end her career, which led to a wave of speculation among the fanbase.
However, during a talk stream held the following day on the 1st of September, Pekora directly and completely denied the rumors.

“No way in hell!,” she stated, adding, “Your imaginations are running too wild!”
She explained that the opening video was created by an artist to whom she gave full creative freedom, and that she did not request any specific direction or “hints” to be included in the animation.
She praised the creator for their work and commented that they always make a cute opening for each of her live events.

Pekora concluded by reassuring her fans, saying, “Please don’t worry, please let me continue my activities.”
Her denial has been met with relief from her massive fanbase, known as the “Nousagi.”

It has also been announced that a range of 6th-anniversary merchandise is now on sale at the official hololive shop.
