Hello Kitty and friends are teaming up with the Ladies Professional Golf Association

The Japanese character company Sanrio has announced that it has signed a multi-year, global partnership agreement with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).
Sanrio, the company behind the global icon Hello Kitty, will become a new “Global Partner” of the LPGA.

The partnership aims to unite the worlds of Sanrio’s beloved characters and the sport of golf, with the goal of supporting the next generation of female golfers around the world.
Sanrio has previously been a supporter of women’s golf in Japan, having sponsored the “MyNavi Next Heroine Golf Tour” and the “Sanrio Smile Golf Tournament.”

This new, global partnership with the LPGA will significantly expand that commitment.
A number of specific activities are planned as part of the new initiative.
“Youth Golf Clinics” will be held at select LPGA tournaments, which will offer hands-on golf instruction to young participants and help to foster confidence and a love for the sport.

Sanrio will also create “Expo Spaces” at various LPGA tour events.
These interactive fan zones will feature photo booths and character meet-and-greet opportunities.
In a statement, Wataru Nakatsuka, a senior managing director at Sanrio, said:
“This partnership with the LPGA allows us to share Sanrio’s unique brand of fun and joy with people involved in golf, while also supporting the next generation of global female athletes as they pursue their dreams.”

Jodi Brothers, the Chief Sales & Partnerships Officer for the LPGA, added:
“We are thrilled to welcome Sanrio and its family of iconic character brands to the LPGA family. So many LPGA fans already have Sanrio characters in their lives, so it made perfect sense to bring our two global brands together in support of our incredible athletes.”
The new partnership was announced on Wednesday, the 8th of October, 2025.
